Show Champion Bannonbrig Rude Boy

Congratulations to Julie, Mike & Lily Morrell

...another incredible year for Alfie in 2012

Best in Show Winner
The Italian Spinone Club of Great Britain
Championship Show

Winner of 14 CC's & 17 Reserve CC's

...and a great start to 2013 with another CC at Manchester Championship Show

Alfie is owned by Mike, Julie & Lily Morrell

He has delighted judges from across the globe and has received top honours from Breed Specialist, Gundog Specialist and esteemed All-Rounder Judges alike

He has been regularly Group Shortlisted, been Group placed and has been consistently shortlisted and placed in most of the all breed Champion Stakes classes in which he has competed

Alfie is a history maker setting a new record in November 2011 when he won his third first place in a Champion Stakes Class.  The first was at the Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show in October 2010, the second at the Gundog Breeds Association of Scotland Championship 2010 and the third at the GBAS 2011 show.  This is an amazing achievement and one made by few dogs of any breed but particularly for the Spinone

He was Top Spinone Runner Up 2009 which was a fantastic achievement for this young man only points behind the all time Spinone Male Breed CC Record holder for the top spot

Alfie held the lead as Top Spinone in the UK for the majority of 2011

Alfie has some fantastic show critiques from respected Judges. Some of the most recent:

"What a great Spinone he is. Head to die for, this is what I have been looking for; just oozes quality. Correct divergent planes, sculpting through zygomatic arches and backskull, arched neck into shoulders which are well laid back. Chest broad, deep, well ribbed up. Broad muscular thighs, tight feet. Moved around the ring in a ground pounding trot.   Won on movement just didn’t put a foot wrong. CC."

Breed Specialist Judge Doreen Hardie

"This beautifully constructed dog was just what I was looking for. Stood four square with the best of heads with excellent head planes and a lovely expression. Strong neck with well placed shoulders. Correct topline with super width of thigh. Excellent depth and substance. Correct tailset. In tip top condition and so well presented. He covered the ground with his free and easy movement. Pleased to award him the CC & BOB."
Breed Specialist Judge Irene Glen

"A really good masculine dog of substance, good thick skin, lovely head and expression, neck correct of med length, true front, good spring of rib, excellent strong quarters so can really drive in movement even on this ground"
Breed Specialist Judge Sonia Grief

"Different shaped body on this imposing male, but very typy, has a classic head with the ultra Italian look, lovely expression, good neck & shoulders, pleasing topline, I particularly liked his hindquarters with good width of second thigh, excellent bone with straight forelegs of quality bone, excellent in profile movement"
Breed Specialist Judge Chris Bexon

Gundog Specialist Judge Pam Blay

Special Thanks  to some special judges who recognised his qualities very early on in his showing career

Alfie is pictured with one of his very proud owners and number one fan Lily Morrell.

Firstly, Breed Specialist Judge Sara Barnard who awarded Alfie his first CC and Best of Breed at the age of 18 months:
"just what I was looking for, robust & square, in good coat, skin & condition, good bone, lovely dark eye, sweetest of expressions, strong neck into good shoulder, forechest & return of upper arm, deep chest, not too much tuck up, held topline standing & moving with that lovely Spinone trot, CC & BOB"

and to Breed Specialist Judge Ann Paton who awarded Alfie Best of Breed at Midland Counties when he went on to be shortlisted in the Gundog Group under International Judge Renee Sporre-Willes of Sweden:
"this w/o is so to type, just 2 years but showing such maturity, super square shape, strong bone, best of heads & an expression to die for, good front & feet, strong neck into well placed shoulder, excellent topline, croup & well muscled quarters & second thigh, correct coat & skin, his movement was a dream to watch, just so Spinone. Presentation & handling top class. BOB hope his crown comes soon"

Rude Boy aptly demonstrates the versatility of the Spinone breed. He is a patient companion to his young owner Lily Morrell and is now making strides in the realms of Obedience having recently been promoted to the advanced class with one of his kennel mates Luigi, Bannonbrig Lord Snooty

He is also proving his worth as Sire and his first litter of pups have been winning their classes and Best Puppy awards following their debut in the summer of 2010 for Claire and Lee Sharp's Afterglow team in partnership with Mike Gadsby

His pups that have since debuted in 2011 and 2012 have been winning Best Puppy in Breed awards at Championship Shows
