The Judges' Viewpoint

Aldo has given his owners an incredible introduction to the world of showing with numerous principal wins at Breed Club Shows and rarely out of the cards, he is more often than not at the top end of his class.
Aldo won the Post Graduate Class at Crufts 2009.

Here are some of his fabulous critiques:

"Superb W/o in Fabulous condition. Excels in head with correct divergent planes, low ear set and the most expressive dark eye giving a melting expression. Correct square outline, strong neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Bone of correct shape. Correct topline and tailset.Good width of stifle lacking in many exhibits today. Excellent ground covering movement. Should have a promising future.CC & RBIS"
Breed Specialist Judge Karen James

"A well balanced dog, and I think more will come of him. Loved the expression. Clean true front with shoulders correctly placed. Plenty of heart room, let down in brisket, nicely ribbed up with strength over the lion and back end. Covers the ground on a sound even length"
International Judge Colin Mackay

"Very impressive o/roan male who was for me, the "likely lad" on the day, very impressive on the stance with good overall balance & strength, as on the move which is so very sound with an excellent side stride, Lovely masculine head, well proportioned & coated with very dark & expressive eyes, crested neck of enough length to well placed shoulder, excellent topline & croup with good tailset, body well developed with ribs deep & well back with nice tuck up, excelled in depth & breadth of chest, front & rear quarters, stands with elbows in on straight, well boned legs on compact feet, hope he has a bright future, RCC"
International Judge Jenny Miller

"Never really noticed him before but he is certainly going to be in the line up for top honours in the future. 15 months white & orange boy, best of outlines in profile with correct square shape. Super divergent planes and rooflike skull, occiput well pronounced. Good median furrow.. Eyes still need to darken but this will come with age, good spongy nose with large nostrils.. Lovely oval bone and excellent angulation both front and rear Lovely broad hocks on the hindquarters which were well let down.. Good well muscled loin and croup of correct slope.....couldn,t deny him Best Dog & Best in Show (Breed Club) he just stood apart from the rest.. Was pleased to see him shortlisted for BIS(Merseyside Gundog Group Show) Well done, will watch his progression with interest"
Breed Specialist Judge Suzanne Whittingham

Likely Lad at 8 Weeks of Age

Likely Lad at Crufts

Here Nicola is pictured handling Aldo at Crufts as a youngster.

In 2009 he went on to win his class at Crufts under International Judge and Gundog Judge Colin Mackay.

Breed Club Success

The Breed Club Shows have consistently brought success in some form or other for Bannonbrig dogs and this has been no exception for Likely Lad.

Here he is pictured with Nicola at The Italian Spinone Club of Great Britain Open Show in 2008 hosted by The Merseyside Gundog Club.

He was awarded Best in Show at the Breed Club Show and went on to be shortlisted for Best in Show amongst the rest of the Gundog Best of Breeds.

Some exhibitors work and wait a lifetime to get their first Champion.
With our support and guidance in his formative years Aldo has achieved repeated success for his first time exhibitor-owners.

Being Shown in the Puppy Class by Nicola

Consistently in the cards since his first Championship Show.
